Planning doesn’t have to be difficult. Start with the fun! Think about the changes you want to make, and then you can unleash the creativity. Will you be moving any walls? Are there issues with the flooring? How is the electric service: Do you have adequate lighting? Enough outlets in the right places? Maybe you need more counter space. All of these things, at the beginning, are wide open! After you form a general plan, then it’s a good idea to start writing some things down, and start estimating what you’ll need and what it will cost.
